The Unity - Chapter Two

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sakura felt his body tense.

“Syaoran?” She whispered, placing a hand on his chest and sitting up a little.

“Sakura, I- I have to go.” He said, still the horror in his eyes lingered. Sakura felt confused.

“Go where?” She asked as he began to get up to grab his clothes. Seeing this, Sakura felt guilty for making him do this. What have I done?! She thought as well.

“Back to Hong Kong,” He said, looking down once he put on his boxers. Sakura’s throat got caught in a knot and her eyes became slightly moist.

“What do you mean?” She asked, her voice cracking already. She was standing up, wrapped around the afghan and trying amazingly hard not to cry. She didn’t know if to feel anger, hatred, sadness or anything else that excluded all good feelings.

“I came here to tell you that but I got sidetracked,” He said, twisting his shirt in his hands. Sakura’s fist tightened and a few tears rolled down her cheeks.

“So you waited until we had our ‘fun’ to tell me this?” She sounded angry. A tone of voice that Syaoran ever rarely heard coming out of her in the past six years that they’d known each other.

“I‘m sure neither of us meant for this to happen and I completely forgot what my purpose here was until my mind wasn‘t running wild,” He said, taking a step back.

“I did mean for this to happen, I was hoping you would come and- wait so, you regret this?” She asked, looking into his amber eyes. He sighed.

“Not at all but it does hurt me that I didn‘t know how to stop when I had to for both of our sakes,” Syaoran said.

Sakura’s fist tightened even more, a sudden rush flashing through her as she gained the desire to punch him in the face.

“This is all my fault, I was too stupid thinking about my feelings first and now I‘m screwed over because you‘re leaving!” She kneeled on the floor, crying to herself. Her honey brown hair was cascading over her face. Syaoran was suddenly next to her.

“It‘s not your fault, I should stopped it but you‘re too much on me,” He confessed as he kissed her head, trying to take in as much of her as possible into his arms. She pulled back, angry and hurt.

“Just go,” She said. Syaoran was baffled at her reaction. Sakura picked up her clothes and headed to the door. Her staff and cards were next to the now unlocked door since she summoned her card mentally and undid the spell.

“Sakura,” He said, following after her.

“Wait, why do you even have to leave?” She asked, not that angry when she turned around. Syaoran looked down.

“I have to take over the company,” He said, looking down. Sakura gasped, angrier. He had sex with me and waits for us to be finished so he can tell me that he has to go run the stupid company?

She burned with a furious glow this time.

“What about your father?” She kind of yelled. He looked past her, taking a deep breath in.

“He died,”

Sakura was speechless at his confession and her kind side triggered in. She let go of her clothes and wrapped her arms around his lean waist.

“Oh, Syaoran I‘m so sorry,” She burst out in tears. Syaoran held her close, wanting to cry himself. He still couldn’t believe that his mother was making him do this. She assured him that it’s not because he wants to take him away from Tomoeda and from Sakura because she’s completely fond of her but it’s because he’s the only heir for the company, nobody else and if he didn’t take charge the Li family’s high standard reputation in China would completely shatter.

“I‘m sorry too, for not saying anything earlier.” He brought her back into the study, locking the door.

“Please go, they need you there,” She said, pulling away. This time she wasn‘t as upset.

“Go, I don‘t want you to waste time with me.” She managed to give him his favorite chuckle.

He was hurting. He was wondering how the hell did she manage to smile for him even though she was completely devastated. He wanted her to hit him or react worse. The way she was acting right now was making him hurt twice as much. He didn’t want to end it like this. He kissed her lips one last time and got dressed.

“I love you, Sakura Kinomoto and remember that you‘ll always be my number one.” He took her in a hug and kissed her fiercely.

Sakura sobbed into his chest, not being able to take it in just yet. She didn’t want him to leave specially now that they’ve shared such a moment. She needs him around more than ever. His phone rang and he sighed, parting from her lips to answer it. Sakura hugged herself, as if she let go then she would fall apart.

Syaoran began speaking in Chinese, making Sakura uncomfortable because she couldn‘t understand anything.

“Xie Xie,” Syaoran said through the phone. Sakura knew what that was.

“Why‘d you say thank you for?” She asked, biting her lip. He wrapped his arms around her.

“Wei is letting me know before hand that my mother expects to speak to me in ten minutes so I have to go now,” He said, leaning down to touch cheeks with her. Sakura sniffled again, pressing her cheek a little more to his. It was wet. She was crying again.

“When are you leaving?” She held onto his shirt securely.

“Tonight,” He said. Sakura’s face fell.

“I‘ll see you soon, right?” Her eyes lit up barely at this. Syaoran couldn’t help but give her a small smile and nod. He had to lie or else he wouldn’t live with himself if she went crazy.

“Wo ai ni, Ying Fa.” He murmured in Chinese to her and kissed her cheek. He got dressed and without a word he left the study and out the front door. Sakura hugged herself again, leaning against the door.

“Syaoran,” She said to herself, trying to figure out what he had said to her. The only thing she understood was her name in Chinese at the end.

“Sakura?” She heard Kero’s voice calling for her again. She gasped, collecting her clothes and putting them on as quickly as possible, tossing the afghan back into the couch.

“Y-Yes Kero-Chan?” She dried her tears and went outside of the study. Kero looked at her with concern.

“Who were you with?” Kero asked, looking past her into the study.

“I was with Syaoran,” She said, trying to hold back tears.

“Oh, did the kid leave already? And why were you yelling earlier?” He threw questions at her. She blushed, looking down.

“I hit my knee hard and I was trying to soothe it,” She smiled nervously. He didn’t seem to buy the story very much.

“Um, Kero-Chan can you please finish dinner for me? Toya and father won’t be long now, ” Sakura looked down, walking slowly towards the staircase.

“Hai,” He said flying behind her, kind of mortified because he didn’t know what was going on with her.

“Arigatou Gozaimas,” She walked up the stairs and into her room. As soon as she got to her room she collapsed on her bed, crying her poor broken heart out.
