The Unity - Chapter Four

After debating whether or not to tell them, Tomoyo finally convinced her to do it. They would have to eventually find out. They both went inside the Kinomoto residence, hoping to find them both there. Sakura was shaking in fear while Tomoyo made some tea for everyone. They were all appalled that Sakura was acting this way. She even tried running away a few times while Toya came out of the shower and her dad sat smiling on the couch, totally oblivious. She gulped once she heard the footsteps of her soon to be raging brother approaching. Tomoyo sat next to her, a little worried.

“… that‘s pretty much it,” Sakura finished telling his family the story, looking down and holding tightly to Tomoyo’s warm hand. Kero had been hiding in Tomoyo’s bag, trying really hard not to burst out in anger in front of everyone. Fujitaka stood up right in front of Sakura and she winced, thinking he might hit her even though he’s never had but instead, he pulled her up and gave her a long embrace that made Sakura cry in relief.

Toya was angry but he hugged Sakura as well. Tomoyo and Sakura sat together as they watched Toya go mad in the house.

“I‘m going to Hong Kong right now to rip that kid‘s throat and feed him to the damn dogs,” Toya punched the wall, grabbing his jacket.

“Toya!” Sakura shouted and Fujitaka grabbed his arm.

“Enough Toya,” He said. Toya relaxed. He had never had his father control him that way so he obeyed.

“Hai,” He said and stood still.

“Sakura, we‘ll get through it together as a family, okay?” Fujitaka smiled at his daughter. Sakura burst out in tears once again and embraced him twice as hard.

“Honestly, I‘m kind of glad it was Syaoran and not someone else,” Her dad smiled warmly at her. Tomoyo and her exchanged a small content smile.

In just two days it would be Sakura’s 17th birthday. She was supposed to be due this month and that had her freaking out. She still couldn’t believe that almost four months passed by. The last time she saw Syaoran was last year in July when he left. She is slowly getting over him now but the fact that she’s expecting a kid from him doesn’t really help her much.

Sakura struggled to get into bed as her humongous round belly blocked her view from below. Kero had to guide her through to lay down which was pretty comical when she bounced around.

“Kero-Chan, I haven‘t seen Yue in a while. How is he?” She grabbed her key from around her neck and played.

Kero flew above her and sat on her belly to face her.

“He‘s fine, very worried about you.” He crossed his little legs and arms.

“Ah, I see.” She said. She jumped in surprise and her eyes lit up as the movement on her belly increased.

“Did you feel that Kero-Chan?!” She beamed with contentment, sitting up a little. Kero roamed around the high part of her belly until he was caught off guard by a kick that made him fly upward, startled.

“Whoa there, She‘s a kicker.” Kero flew back down and settled himself on the side. Sakura laughed and pat his head.

“It‘s a he, a kicker just like his father,” Sakura’s eyes gleamed. Kero rolled his eyes.

“How are you so sure that it‘s a he?” he retorted. Sakura quirked a brow.

“It‘s motherly instincts,” She stuck out her tongue. I know it’s a boy. She smiled at the thought.

The day of her birthday arrived, Tomoyo took charge of everything. Everyone feasted, danced and some even just stayed mesmerized along with Sakura. Everyone from their school was there to cheer Sakura up even though there wasn’t any more happiness to fulfill her.

“Do you need help with the dishes?” She wobbled over to the kitchen where Tomoyo was straining as she cleaned up. She shook her head.

“Go rest, I‘ll join you soon!” She sighed, taking another glance at the pile of dishes. “I hope.”

“There‘s an easier way to do this, come here.” Sakura pulled her friend and smiled deviously.

“RELEASE!” She chanted as her staff sprouted in her hands. Tomoyo looked at her and nodded.

“Bubble,” they both smiled.

“Please help us clean these dishes so we can get some rest,” Sakura whipped out her card.

“BUBBLE!” She whispered yelled since her father was already sleeping. Toya was taking Yukito home so no worries about him. The bubble card acted immediately, enveloping the silverware in soapy foam. It returned as its respective card form.

“Please rinse the dishes,” Sakura whipped out another card. “WATERY!” The card activated, the mermaid like creature emerged and neatly rinsed groups of plates and utensils. Soon returning to its original form.

Tomoyo smiled in happiness, knowing she didn’t have to wash all of that.

“What about to dry them?” Tomoyo asked, whipping her head towards a worn out Sakura.

“WINDY!” She summoned and the beautiful air creature appeared, aiding them.

Arigatou everyone. Sakura said mentally, knowing her cards will certainly hear her. They replied to her by a small glowing of the three used cards.

“Using magic while pregnant is horrible,” Sakura leaned on Tomoyo who helped her up the stairs.

“Yeah I see,” She giggled as they got to Sakura’s room.

Sakura hadn’t felt anything weird going on with her the week she was supposed to be due so she risked herself and went out shopping with Tomoyo.

“Tomoyo, can we go home now?” Sakura complained, finishing the last of her vanilla ice cream as they entered a new baby store. Tomoyo had her camera at hand, filming everything Sakura did.

“Not until we buy enough things for your surprise baby!” Tomoyo chanted. Sakura stuck her tongue out at the camera.

“But why are we buying mostly girl things? Its probably a boy, you know? I can feel it.” Sakura smiled, rubbing her round tummy. Tomoyo rolled her eyes.

“Maybe, maybe not. If it is a boy I have the receipt for everything we bought.” She said. Sakura groaned, picking up a small pair of forest green booties. Her eyes welled up in tears and she looked away from the camera. Tomoyo noticing this, turned it off and walked over to her.

“What’s wrong?” She asked, placing a hand on Sakura’s back. Sakura sniffled.

“I wonder where he is, I miss him so much,” Sakura cried silently. Tomoyo took her in a hug.

“I’m sure he misses you a lot too Sakura, I’m positive that he does” Tomoyo said, stroking her friend’s hair.

“Yeah right, He misses me so much that he doesn’t call me or write to me or do anything to keep contact with me. It’s been exactly nine months since I last saw him!” Sakura cried.

“I missed prom because of him, I didn’t get out of the house because of him, I got pregnant because of him and he’s not even around so I can tell him all of this in his stupid gorgeous face,”

Sakura sat down on a nearby beanbag and cried helplessly. Tomoyo made her get up.

“I need to get over him. I need to only focus on my little gift and that’s the only thing I’m grateful to him for. The wonderful child I’m going to get that won’t leave me and never talk to me like he did,” Sakura dried her tears and leaned her head on Tomoyo’s shoulder, quickly making it damp.

“One call can’t hurt him, Tomoyo,” She sniffled and she felt a small kick all of a sudden.

“Aw, he‘s upset too,” Sakura smiled, trying to stop crying and rubbed her belly and suddenly feeling her knees weaken.

“Oh, Oh!” Sakura grabbed her belly. Tomoyo panicked.

“What’s wrong Sakura?!” She held onto her. “Are you okay?” She asked, watching her friend scrunch up.

“Tomoyo, my water broke,” She said, holding herself. Tomoyo looked down and saw Sakura’s legs and pants soaked in something clear.

“OH WHAT DO I DO! OH KAMI-SAMA! WHAT DO I DO?!” Tomoyo shouted.

“Ugh, call Toya or my dad or Kero! No not Kero, just ugh take me to the hospital!” Sakura grasped Tomoyo’s arm.

“Oh gosh, someone call 911!” Someone shouted from afar. The sales lady came over and gasped and so did everyone else.

“TOYA! HER WATER BROKE, YES! I DON‘T KNOW, OKAY, NO, ALRIGHT BYE!” Tomoyo grabbed Sakura and drove her to the Tomoeda General hospital. During the ride all Sakura would do is think of ways to murder Syaoran as her contractions began.

“SOMEONE, SHE‘S ABOUT TO GIVE BIRTH! PLEASE HELP!” Tomoyo came inside the emergency room with a panting Sakura.

Two nurses took her into a room.

“Whenever I see him again, I‘m going to slit his throat,” Sakura grasped Tomoyo’s hand.
