“Mei Ling, you are the best, you know that?” Syaoran hugged his cousin tightly until she turned purple. She had gotten him a whole month of vacation in Japan to visit Tomoeda again.
“Yeah yeah, but I‘m not doing it for you, I‘m doing it for Kinomoto‘s sake.” Mei Ling said, trying to balance her pencil on her upper lip. Syaoran’s eyes widened.
“What do you mean?” Syaoran asked, making Mei Ling turn to him.
“Well…” she paced back and forth. “I spoke to Chiharu, one of Kinomoto‘s friends and she told me that Kinomoto has two kids and that the father is a very important man in a different country, a very classy man,” Mei Ling said. Syaoran held onto the wall before falling back.
Sakura was pregnant? By who? When? What the hell! Syaoran began to get a bit angry.
“I was planning on going to see her but now I want to find out who the father is and I want to make sure at least if he‘s making her happy.” Syaoran stomped out of his office, completely furious.
“Wow, when he‘s angry he really lets obvious things slip right by him like flying colors.” Mei Ling murmured, sitting back on her chair.
She looked up when she saw him back inside the office.
“Wait, why is it going to be for her sake?” He asked, still completely dumbfounded. Mei Ling rolled her eyes.
“Don‘t worry, you‘ll eventually realize it and now go catch the plane and find out who the bastard is.” Mei Ling scrunched up her lips and laughed.
Syaoran looked at her oddly and hurried home to pack.
“How about the mall?” Tomoyo smiled. Sakura shrugged.“I guess so, I have nothing else to do since my dad is taking Raiden to one of his lectures again. That boy only wakes up early just to go hear my dad talk for hours. He‘s such an odd child.” Sakura shook her head, making Tomoyo laugh.
“I guess he took interest in Archeology just like Syaoran did,” Tomoyo said, putting her tea cup down. Sakura sighed.
“That‘s not taking interest, that boy has an obsession with that and it‘s unhealthy,” Both girls laughed.
“What about Hana-Chan?” Tomoyo asked, crossing her legs. Sakura rolled her eyes.
“She‘s crazier than ever. She only pays attention when it comes to music, sports and other things that don‘t involve mathematical problems,”
“Ha, that totally proves she‘s your daughter,” Tomoyo and Sakrua agreed.
“Oi, I‘m heading to the mall right now with Yukito, do you guys want to come?” Toya asked peeking his head through the kitchen door.
“HAI!” Tomoyo grabbed her purse and Sakura, walking out the door with Toya and Hanako clinging onto Yukito.
“You look so pretty today,” Yukito smiled at the blushing little Hanako. She was wearing one of Sakura’s old clothing. A little pink dress with plumped white sleeves.
“Arigatou, Yukito-San.” She looked down, blushing even more. Sakura and Tomoyo exchanged looks and laughed. Kero was hiding in Tomoyo’s purse and decided to peek for a second.
“When are you going to tell her who I really am?” Kero complained. Sakura stuffed him back in.
“Soon enough, Kero-Chan, soon enough,” Sakura smiled.
Toya and Yukito went to the toy store with Hanako while Sakura and Tomoyo went to a lingerie store.
“Okay, why are we here?” Sakura crossed her arms. Tomoyo giggled.
“You should buy this,” She picked up a lacy black bra and a matching pair of panties. Sakura quirked a brow.
“I would never wear that and besides, I have nobody to wear it for.” She made Tomoyo let go of it.
Both girls laughed and came out of the store when Sakura stumbled back, not believing what she was seeing. What is this? No, It’s not him. I’m just hallucinating. She debated in her head.
Her vision became slightly blurry. Brown hair, amber eyes, tall, handsome, lean, perfect and a least one type of green clothing.
“Syaoran,” She whispered. Tomoyo took a few steps forward, making Sakura jump and hide behind a huge bamboo plant. She saw Tomoyo approach him and he seemed to have spotted her. Without a word he hugged her tightly and he looked like he was about to cry.
“Li-Kun, what a miracle.” Tomoyo said almost dryly. She was mad and he could tell because she never uses that tone unless she’s angry.
“I know I‘ll eventually get yelled at but I came because I want to know something,” He said, sounding almost desperate.
“What would you possibly want to know?” Tomoyo crossed her arms.
“Okay first of all, does Sakura really have two kids?” He asked, gulping down his saliva.
From afar, Sakura was dying to know what they were saying to each other.
Tomoyo‘s eyes widened. “Uh, yes it‘s true.” She responded.
Syaoran closed his eyes and threw his head back. He looked straight forward, suddenly frowning as he saw a girl fighting with a big bamboo plant. He kind of smiled and walked slowly towards her.
“Stupid thing,” Sakura swatted away the plant and noticed a figure standing next to her.
“You know, Cherry Blossoms are not compatible with plain old bamboo,” Syaoran said in front of her.
Sakura was flabbergasted, frozen in place. He couldn’t help but stare at her body. Her perfect curves that were being hugged by her white shorts and black tank top.
“Yeah, you‘re one to speak of compatibility,” She walked past him without looking up. Her throat was already clamped and she wasn’t trusting her voice anymore.
Syaoran looked down awkwardly.
“Let‘s go Tomoyo,” She grabbed Tomoyo’s arm and began walking with her until Syaoran grabbed her arm.
“Sakura wait,” He whispered, looking down. His brown bangs covering his beautiful chocolate eyes. The same eyes he shared with Raiden.
“That’s Kinomoto to you and you and I have nothing to say to each other so goodbye,” Sakura said, taking her hand back and feeling herself getting stabbed with her own cold words.
“I believe we do, I know about your kids and I want to know who the father is. I heard he was high class and all,” He said, almost angrily. Tomoyo and Sakura exchanged looks.
“First of all, who the hell do you think you are to ask me this? You think that I‘m just magically going to forget what you‘ve done these four years and pour my heart and soul to you again?” Her voice cracking. She was at the verge of tears.
“I‘m hoping so,” His words were sincere.
“The father is indeed high class but in a different country.” Sakura gave in, not being able to resist him at all. She wasn’t going to say anything to him about him being the father. He had to find out himself.
“Interesting, who is it? Is he making you happy?” His voice was urgent and sad. Sakura swallowed hard and even though she was upset with him, she couldn’t bring herself to hate him for appearing out of nowhere. She nodded but not answering his question, not trusting her own voice.
“Sakura, who‘s the father!” Syaoran scowled. Sakura winced into Tomoyo and began to cry a little.
“DON’T QUESTION ME! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO BE QUESTIONING ME!” Sakura shouted, pushing him aside and walking out the doors to a path for the parking lot. Tomoyo and Syaoran caught up to her. She groaned.
“Why are you even here?” She asked, whipping her head to look at him. Syaoran looked around.
Tomoyo went back inside and Sakura was about to follow but Tomoyo shook her head telling her to stay. Sakura bit her lip. Tomoyo wanted them to settle things for once for the sake of Hanako and Raiden.
“I came back for you,” He said, looking down. Sakura’s mouth opened a little, making her eyes fill with tears.
“Why didn‘t you call me all those years?” Sakura leaned on the wall, sliding down to the pavement.
“My mother told me that I had no time for a social life at all so she practically forbid people from letting me use any type of communication and I was stuck. I don‘t understand though because she says she likes you very much since the day she met you when you won the trip to Hong Kong when you were 10, remember?” Syaoran sat down in front of her. She looked up a little and saw his big brown eyes staring back at her. She nodded, remembering that amazing and dangerous trip.
From the other side of the doors, Kero and Tomoyo were talking about Syaoran and Sakura.
“I‘ll burn him into ashes if he tries anything with her,” Kero shuddered. Tomoyo’s forehead creased with worry at this and looked at the two.
“I missed you so much over these years, it was impossible not being able to think about you. All that kept me sane was the Sakura tree that was planted in the middle of the corporation‘s garden.” He kind of smiled, looking at the floor.
“I sat there everyday and thought of you and what you might be doing and even so, when I got home all I did was look at the pictures we had and think about you day and night.” He tried to touch her but brought his hand back to him.
It’s okay Syaoran, you can touch me. She wanted to say this out loud but her chest seemed to roar and burst. I THOUGHT ABOUT YOU TOO! ALL THE TIME! EVEN WHEN I WAS GIVING BIRTH AND WAS INSULTING YOU, I THOUGHT ABOUT HAVING YOU HOLD MY HAND AND TELL ME EVERYTHING WAS GOING TO BE OKAY! I MISSED YOU SYAORAN, I LOVE YOU!
She seemed to be lost in her own thoughts. They were quiet for a while until she heard knocking on the door. Syaoran looked to his right and saw something that made him jump in surprise. Was he looking at Sakura’s reflection? But it can’t be, in her reflection she looked much smaller.
“Hana-Chan no, wait!” Yukito shouted as Hanako ran out the door toward Sakura. Syaoran was speechless. He could not speak at all whatsoever.
“It‘s fine Yukito-San,” She smiled. Toya looked as pissed off as ever so Sakura returned her gaze on her little girl.
“Hi Mommy, I missed you!” Hanako said, wrapping her tiny hands around Sakura’s neck. Sakura sniffled.
“Hey,” She smiled, bringing her on her lap. Syaoran stared, not believing that he was seeing the same person in two different sizes.
“Why does he look like an old Raiden?” Hanako ‘whispered’ into Sakura’s ear.
Syaoran tried his best to smile a little at this event.
“This is Syaoran Li, he‘s a friend of mine.” Sakura said a little bitterly. Syaoran’s face fell.“Nice to meet you Hana-Chan,” Syaoran smiled, extending out his hand. Hanako took it and flinched a little and so did he. Sakura felt their bodies twitch when they touched. It was like if they knew each other already.
“You can call me Hanako, Li-Kun.” She smiled, tilting her head to the side. Syaoran’s eyes glistened at this view. Hanako is just like her mother, exactly the same. I wonder how her other kid looks like, I bet the same way but no, Hanako mentioned something about someone named Raiden looking like me. Wait, if he looks like me then maybe… no, it can’t be that I mean, It was our first time, nothing could have happened. He stared into space.
“LI-KUN!” Hanako shouted, waving her little hand in front of him. Sakura looked down.
“Hanako,” He smiled. Sakura’s heart warmed at hearing him say his own daughter’s name.
“Sakura, do you think we can talk in private for a second?” Syaoran stood up. Hanako followed his every move. Sakura got up and nodded nervously.
“Hanako, why don‘t you wait inside with the rest and I‘ll be back soon so we can go home and eat dinner with grandpa and Raiden, okay?” Sakura leaned and smiled at her little girl.
Hanako huffed and nodded, running into Tomoyo’s arms. Sakura nodded at Tomoyo and walked away with Syaoran around the corner.
“Who‘s the father?” He ran a hand through his hair and placed one next to her in the wall she leaned in. She could feel his hot breath on her face as he spoke and she shuddered.
“W-Why do you care so much?” Sakura, moved away. Syaoran followed her, grabbing her by the two arms.
“Back there with Hanako, It felt right when she held my hand Sakura, I doubt it‘s what I think it is because I‘m guessing Raiden is older so it‘s impossible and yeah they can‘t be what I think they are and and and…” He kept on. Sakura pressed her hand on his mouth and looked at him.
“What is it that you‘re thinking?” She asked serenely. Syaoran looked away, his face turning red.
“T-that t-t-that Hanako and Raiden are mine,” He stuttered. Sakura’s face turned red and she held in her sobs.
“But it‘s impossible, Raiden is older than Hanako so they can‘t both be mine or Hanako even though I felt like if she belonged to me as well and she even mentioned about him looking like me so I assumed… Just forget it,” He tightened his fists into hard rocks and Sakura threw her head back slightly, feeling herself forced to tell him the truth.
“Raiden is older than Hanako… by two minutes.” Sakura said. Syaoran looked up at her confused.
“I never mentioned to you that they were twins,”
Syaoran was a little hopeful by this.
“Syaoran, Hanako and Raiden are my- yo- they’re ours,” Sakura finally said. Syaoran’s eyes widened.
“You‘re kidding right? But what about the rich classy father?” He asked, making her back up into the wall. Then he stopped to think about it. He was the one Mei Ling was telling him about.
“I want to see Raiden, I want to meet him Sakura, I want to-” Syaoran started but stopped once he felt Sakura wrap her arms around him. He slowly returned the embrace and rested his head on her head.
“I want to stay with you three forever,” He kissed the top of her head.
